sheets of ink were not being assembled properly creating damaged ink capsules and misalignment between the ink layer and the conductive control back plane.

spent time working with the current process and direct labor to understand what was happening with current process. prototyped a few ideas and tested with direct labor to show improved process.

replaced registration table, sheets and marks with hinged vacuum table with registration pins and hard stops. once sheets are attached to plates with vacuum, user swings top layer in place over bottom layer. vacuum is then turned into positive pressure to “blow” the top layer into place. various hand holding positions were created for user comfort.
