This project was to understand the base consumer and create a new design that would live around the home in various locations.
Initial home interviews were conducted to understand why the original product lived in the bathroom. Concept sketches and models were generated for contextual in home testing. Final modifications were completed based on this work.
A form that was less floral and more sculptural was found to be desirable in spaces outside of the bathroom. Asymmetry was specifically added and a new stone-like colorant was selected to make it feel less like plastic. Managed the detailed engineering and production in China, spending significant time with the manufacturer assuring that a cost effective design would be achieved without the loss of design intent.
